I held my solitary Imbolc ritual on December 21, 2016 from 5:40pm to 6:34pm. The Celtic Irish ritual was held inside my apartment and followed the ADF core order.
I was somewhat conflicted the day I’ve held my ritual. I’m a very solitary man and I can see my current relationship slightly coming to an end. The “spring cleaning” must be done in my personal life. It is a time to clean-up anything that emotionally weight on us. I’m also unhappy with my current job and I just applied for a new position. I tried to clear my mind and I did the ritual the best I could. I have more practice now and it was easier to concentrate and focus on the ritual, putting aside my inner thoughts.
My statement of purpose was to honor the Goddess Brighid. I opened the gates by inviting the gatekeeper, Manannán. I then made my offerings: red wine for the Deities, milk for Brighid, Té Bheag scotch for the Ancestors, honey and bird’s seeds to the Nature Spirits and Mother Earth and frankincense resin incense to the Gatekeeper.
The omen was cast with my Green Witch Tarot:
- Knight of Swords: Reflects a time when you are embarking a new project or idea and there is really no way to stop you.
- Ace of Pentacles: New opportunities are coming your way to generate a new source of income, or you may be lucky enough to receive a financial gift or windfall.
- Nine of Wands: This is the one last challenge or test before you can reach ultimate success. Signs of hope!
I thanked the Kindreds, and closed the gates. The omen was very positive! Something good could happen soon, but I need to give some effort one last time!
